Pointless is as pointless does

- Stay Out - This Means *You*! Yaar, you, right thar. Imma talking to *you!*
- LOL, that sketch of the Massive Dynamics logo looked like the Nintendo 64 logo like whoa! XD
- Heee, I like the German Expressionist design of things.
- Lulz, spot the Fringe icons! Did ya see them? ;)
- How can you say no to a face like that? You *can't*.
- Olivia in a dress. :D
- No, sad!Olivia. Don't be sad. :C

Kurt and Blaine.
Blaine and Kurt.
Kurt/Blaine, and Blaine *and* Kurt.
And you know, as much as I don't mind their existence on the show, not really, the pairing keeps reminding me of something. Namely the fact that I seem incapable of shipping m/m pairings. Which, seen through fandom's lens, makes me the odd one out. Like, a pink goat in a sea of guy-loving deers. That's how I feel sometimes, tbh.
I'm just saying, some of us would love to see a girl serenade another *girl*, you know. We *do* exist out there in the world, hand on my heart. I'm not going to lie -- if both of them were female I would be all over this pairing quicker than you can say "Gimme!". I guess what I'm asking is -- why can't we have both? Why can't we have Blaine and Kurt making eyes at each other *as well* as have two female characters from the cast do the exact same thing with each other? And if you say something like 'that'd be homo overkill', I will punch you in the face. Shut your mouth. >:c

I am going to join the chorus from my side of town, pointless as it may be. But...
*Why* are we presented with three queer males (Kurt, Blaine and a closeted Karosky), yet there is *no* representation of a closeted/out lesbian or bi female and her sexuality dealt with in the same way as with these guys? It's not like there's a goddamn gay *quota* on things, writers! From the looks of it, they're not going to go near the Brittana ship again, so...
Just food for thought.

There's a difference of 1391 members between rachel_quinn and kurt_blaine, and 1325 between the latter community and brittana. Kurt_blaine has 800 more members than puckurt. I threw samkurt in there, just to see how a more unconventional slash pairing would hold up against the others. I haven't looked at any het couple comms, because... uh, this is about the gay side of things, obvs.
So -- there are the numbers. I think they speak for themselves.

Also, quite interesting article:
A visit to a Shanghai fake-marriage market, where lesbians and gay men meet to find a husband or wife.

Skins. I actually rather enjoyed the second ep, Rich. The third ep, Mini, on the other hand -- while not atrocious in any way, it was certainly not among the strongest or best the series could offer us. Let's wait and see how the following episodes are going to be. On the US front: Britne Overford (Cadie) is the strongest actress out of the entire cast at the current moment, y/y? Tony and Abbud continue to annoy me. Eleanor Zichy as Eura came across as being more, y'know, 'speshul' than enigmatic in that scene with Cadie.
Still going to continue watching it, though.

So, Glee has returned as well with two new eps recently. And I have one or two things to say:
-
Kurt and Blaine.
Blaine and Kurt.
Kurt/Blaine, and Blaine *and* Kurt.

Date: 2011-02-12 10:31 pm (UTC)and yeah kurt and blaine are boring me in fandom too.
I think i'll leave my opinions on skin, just so this comment isn't all negative!! :D

Date: 2011-02-12 10:40 pm (UTC)The thing is... I see how crazy people are getting over Klaine - and I just wish I could see the f/f version of it. :c That'd make me flail equally as much as they are doing.
The show really has a tendency to sweep the dilemma under the carpet, doesn't it? ;)
You should feel free to share your opinions on anything you like - I'm not going to bark at you. ;P This season isn't the best, but... I don't find it to be, like, the most horrible thing ever.

Date: 2011-02-12 10:57 pm (UTC)klaine fans are rather rabid aren't they?? they're alot like merlin/arthur fans!!! I do find it quite strange that straight girls go so mad for slash!!??! i just don't get it!
i only said that becasue i didn't really like the last ep of skins and i didn't want to fill my whole reply with negative!!
i've only seen 1 skins US and thought it was pretty crap and the acting was awful, so i haven't watched any more! but next weeks ep 'liv' looks like it might have potential!! :D

Date: 2011-02-12 11:07 pm (UTC)Some of them are rabid, indeed. But I kind of understand in some way, because it's canon? :P Well, it's not that I don't understand slash, because I do get it -- it's simply the fact when fans seem to react irrationally and be a bit over the top when it comes to their fandom love that I get kind of intimidated. :P
Mini's episode wasn't one of the strongest ones, no, but I didn't find it 'zomg sooo bad' or anything. :P The first ep of US!Skins wasn't that good, but the three following it, Tea's ep, Chris' and Cadie's are decent ones. You could just skip to Tea's and watch girls kiss, maybe? ;)

Date: 2011-02-12 11:17 pm (UTC)oh yeah i do understand it, of course i do, but some times it's just...... bluegh!!!
hahaha! the only US one was the Tea ep!! :D
and no it wasn't devastatingly awful, but my mind did wander alot and i kept hoping it would end soo........

Date: 2011-02-12 11:24 pm (UTC)Them rabid fans need to take a chill pill, yo. ;D
Lolz, okay then. The thing with that ep was it could have been really goddamn good, but... it sort of lacked the punch, y'know? Maybe it has something to do with Sofia not being the strongest actress? (One of the better actors, definitely, but not the best). That prize goes to the girl playing Cadie for the moment.

Date: 2011-02-12 11:51 pm (UTC)I was actually a bit more interested in the cadie ep, cassie was a great character in season 1, maybe i'll try to find the ep.
I have to say i was suprised at how bad some of the acting was!! It shows you how good some of our young actors are!!
